Does anyone have any suggestions to offer to a fellow member who emailed me direct with the following problem. I do not use AOL so can't answer from my experience. "I have a query, when I try to view a video file in 'AOL Media Player', I see a message that states 'Network error' The file could not be played..... At the time I am on the net." Post any replies here and I will email direct back to them. Regards Mike M.

Hi Mike, I don't use AOL but a quick search turned up a number of problems with the AOL player when trying to play back MP3 files. This may also apply to video files as well depending on how they are streamed. This is a copy of one reply;
Network Error: the file could not be played. Check to be sure you are still connected to the AOL service. There may be problems streaming audio through AOL's media player. You can work around the error by access the streaming page using Internet Explorer or Netscape outside of AOL or by disabling the AOL media player: - In AOL, goto Keyword: Preferences
- Select Multimedia Settings
- Uncheck Use AOL media player for supported file types and press OK
- Repeat the steps to open the Stream. When you Select a Preferred Player, select either the Windows Media Player 9 or Other MP3 Player option
There was also a suggestion to check the settings for connection to the internet as well. Good luck, regards, Pendragon |
